Welcome to Two Sixteen, A Link to the Past Randomizer Podcast. I am your host, Fear Agent. We're back. It's safe to say we're back. It's safe to say that because we've got an episode here, and I've got two more in the can, one more lined up. So I guess I'm doing this. It's weird for me because I'm not really back racing. Like I am, I have joined the League. League Season Seven is about to start next week.
I joined with Jammo and Homemade Beer. Our team is called Three Off the T. Golf, for our friends, I don't get it. I don't golf, but the other two guys do. And so whatever, it's cool. But yeah, back with the League, but I've been doing some practice with Jammo, mostly done some practice with beer. He's kind of busy, but I just don't really enjoy playing the game all that much, to be honest.
I thought I would, well, let me correct that. I really enjoy co-op. The times that I've practiced with Jammo and beer have been really, really fun. And I really enjoy playing with those guys. Solo racing, just not my thing. And I thought maybe the time off would change that. It hasn't, and that's okay.
And so, like, I think the question is, like, am I back back? I think I'm back in the sense that I never left. Two-Sixteen, the Discord's kind of always been open. A lot of action over there, mostly sports. We're not really talking random, but mostly sports, which is more of what my interest is anyways. I'm just not into the racing community. I think that's the big thing. I'm just not into racing. And that's fine. It's just a new shift. It's a paradigm shift for me because racing was so prevalent in my life for, gosh, six years or something, from 18 to 24 I thought, you know, the show would go away with me not racing and me not be involved in the community. I'm not really in any other Discords. I don't really want to get involved with conversations about racing. I just don't care enough. So that's kind of what Two-Sixteen is now. It's like kind of what it's always been about people more than about racing. So no reason to not talk with people in the community. It's just maybe a little bit of a different perspective or something. I don't even know. Like, well, we'll got a good line up of people that I've talked to already. It's just been a lot of fun conversations that I've had with the guests coming up. So today on the show we've got Leaf and we'll get to that shortly. Leaf is someone that I mentioned when the show originally ended. And I guess we'll just say when the feed ended, because that's really what happened. Someone that I wanted to talk to and I didn't get a chance to. So bringing the new feedback, the new show back. So you get to hear that. That's coming up here in just a minute. So League's back. League Season 7 They took all of 2024 off and League's back to springtime, which is where it's supposed to be. Like, I remember campaigning for that way back when, probably 2021, 2022 The Seasons 2 and 3, we did in the same calendar year. So that was the COVID year. We ended up running, yeah, we ran League twice that year. And then the main tournament took the fall off and they took the spring spot. And then while I was there, I'd always try to get that spring spot back, but it just never worked out. So they were able to switch that, so that's cool. I think League being in spring is better, mostly for the co-op thing, like in scheduling. Winter time is just a little bit tougher, with Christmas and everything. And the holidays that come along with November and December, it's just tough. Back in spring, that was a real positive for the League. I know that allowed them to spend more time getting Season 7 ready. And I think I touched on this in the last episode, and I don't want to harp on it, because Sigma runs the League now, it's his League. I don't like what they did with the Season, it's really unfortunate. And I think it shows 28 Invitational teams, and 20, was it 22 or 26 Open teams, that's a huge drop-off. And I know that there was a drop-off in the Main Tournament, but that's almost a 50% drop-off from the last League. And that's, you could say, it's attrition from racing, and maybe that is a thing, but I think it speaks poorly to what they did for the Season. I'm sorry, Sigma, I'm sorry. I, just for me, the League is super, it's super important to me, and it always will be, because I, it was my baby. I created it, I fostered it, and I feel like I turned it into something that was really, really good. With the help of a ton of people, it's not just me, but I stepped away when I needed to step away, and that felt right, and I thought they did a good job the last couple of years, despite like some hiccups and mode selections and stuff, but man, they really, I feel like they dropped the ball this year, and that's really unfortunate. Maybe they can turn it around, I don't know, we'll see. I hope to have fun regardless, like I don't think I'm playing any solo modes. There's, since there's four weeks of co-op, I think I'm able to play all four of those weeks and skip all the solo modes. That's nice. Yeah, we'll see how we do. Reveal stream is always fun. Again, a little shocking. There's only, there's so few teams. Oh man. It was tough, it's tough for me. It's tough when you see something that you care about, like, falter as much as it has. And it's unfortunate. What the solution is, I don't know. Maybe it's not even the admin's fault. Maybe it's just where the community is. I don't know. And maybe I'm just so far removed from that that I just gotta let it go and be okay with it. Maybe I'm in the wrong. Maybe I'm just totally off base. And this is actually what the community is and what the community should be and where it's at and just deal with it and suck it up. But I'll be playing. So Two Sixteen, though, we're back. We're talking with people. And that's, again, really what this is all about, making friends and just learning who people are. And yeah, that's kind of always been what Two Sixteen is. And we'll be going in the future. So I've got four episodes, including this one, lined up. Again, we're not going seasons. Those four episodes, I think, will be the next four weeks. Not sure, but yeah, just keep a lock on the feed. And when a new episode shows up, we get to listen to it. A couple of housekeeping things real quick. Since we do have a new feed, it means we have everything's like super fresh. There's no reviews or anything like on Apple podcasts or Spotify. So if you could leave a five-star review, that would be super awesome. And again, help the show get out there. I'm not trying to make the show more than what it is, but you know, more listeners never hurts. If you want to help the show, just go to Apple Podcasts and click five stars and leave a review if you can. That would be super helpful. So yeah, it's fun. It's fun to be doing this stuff. And I hope you find it fun too. I won't be complaining about League anymore. I'm going to zip it up. I've said my piece. Everyone will know that listens to the show. I feel done. Now we just get to go into the games and have fun with that and try to enjoy that. I think we'll have some League stuff on this feed as well. What that is exactly, I'm not going to tell you because I don't have it fully formed. But we'll have the three episodes that I have recorded. I've got one more to record here soon. And then something special. So it could be a pretty fun, active feed here in the next few months. So yeah, subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. We're everywhere.
