By the way, we have an engineer named Steve, and I challenged Steve to have his beautiful wife make me some chocolate chip banana bread. She not only made one, Petey, she made six of them.
And it looks like there's only one or two left. And it is legit very good. And perfectly undercooked, if I may add.
**Pete Hoffman** (0:18)
Yeah, what's with the five minutes undercooking this?
**Craig Carton** (0:20)
Because I like it mushy, and I like it moist. Sometimes people overcook the banana bread. I like it undercooked on purpose.
And that's exactly how she did it.
**Pete Hoffman** (0:29)
But on the pizza, you're an overdone guy.
**Craig Carton** (0:31)
Pizza, I like well done. I don't like doughy pizza. I like crispy pizza. I like it well done, thin and well done. So if I get a pizza that's not overcooked a little bit, not burnt, it's not as good. That's just my own personal take on that, anyway.
Go ahead, do you have something to say?
**Pete Hoffman** (0:46)
No, I'm just curious.
**Craig Carton** (0:48)
A Weisenheimer to say? You couldn't think of a funny joke there?
**Pete Hoffman** (0:51)
No, I'm not very funny.
**Craig Carton** (0:52)
Is that what you're going for? Yeah, by the way, great news for you New York Knick fans.
Jose Alvarado coming back to the Knicks. Three-year contract, $14 million.
He opted out of the player option, which was about four and a half million bucks. And he and the New York Knicks got the deal done. It was just announced. Jose Alvarado, New York City kid, now has a three-year contract, guaranteed money, $14 million and we are absolutely running it back. For a second consecutive championship attempt. So good to see our backup point guard and probably pound for pound. Maybe our toughest player, pound for pound. So Jose Alvarado coming back to the Knicks.
**Pete Hoffman** (1:42)
Yeah, but what about Mitchell Robinson? Did that bring it back with him? He's out.
**Craig Carton** (1:45)
It's not. No, no, by the way, just because the New York Post puts on the headline, Gone in the Wind instead of Gone with the Wind, right? There's a little, little print above the word gone.
Likely to be Gone with the Wind. Now, I'm not saying he's coming back, but that's not done yet. Just because you read it doesn't mean it's real.
**Pete Hoffman** (2:06)
But James Dolan was here saying he doesn't want to go to the second apron.
**Craig Carton** (2:09)
I know. I know.
**Pete Hoffman** (2:11)
How do you fit it?
**Craig Carton** (2:12)
If Carl Anthony Towns doesn't demand the max, max, max, it is possible to get both guys done without being under the second apron or above the second apron. I'm not saying it's likely, it's possible.
It's about Carl Anthony Towns. If Carl Anthony Towns does what Jalen Brunson did, then you can get both guys signed to multi-year deals.
**Pete Hoffman** (2:37)
So you're saying?
**Craig Carton** (2:38)
I'm saying-
**Pete Hoffman** (2:39)
If Cat-
**Craig Carton** (2:40)
So you're telling me I got a shot.
**Pete Hoffman** (2:41)
So you're saying Cat is, if he's not selfish, which is bad?
**Craig Carton** (2:46)
Selfish isn't the right word, but let's use it. If he's not selfish, then yes, I think there's a chance both guys come back. And my take has always been, I respect the fact it's about money. It's always about money. And your job is to get as much money as possible. That's for the average person. Because there's a big difference between making 60 grand a year and 80 grand a year. That's a significant difference at that level. When you're making $60 million a year, there is no difference between 60 and 65
No difference at all other than ego. And I understand everybody wants to compare themselves. How much do you make compared to that guy? And because your salaries are public, you know to the penny what guys make. But I'd be the guy, and I've done it throughout my career, and I don't make anywhere near that kind of money, where a good deal is a good deal. And if me taking a little bit less lets you have a job, then I'm your guy.
Why do you think Al Dukes is still working here? Because I always took less.
That's why he's employed by WFAN. And that's not hyperbole. I probably shouldn't say it. But that's why he's made it here, as long as he's made it. Because unlike some people that work at the fan, I've always taken less.
Because a good deal is a good deal. I'm not after every nickel in every single room.
