**Josh Norris** (1:10)
Let's talk Brendan Sorsby, the quarterback out of Cincinnati, who now has entered the supplemental draft. The supplemental draft, Hayden, we've had a pick in since the 2019 summer. So when you go back and watch Sorsby tape, what stands out the most?

**Hayden Winks** (1:24)
I think he got a very loose athlete. He's a plus athlete. There's a couple of times as a scrambler where he would take off and run. I also noticed his sack production is really, really outlier strong. And if you go back and look at the reasons why, there's a lot of play action in the offense, like absurd, it's like 50% of the snaps are play action. But also he's got the athletic traits to kind of escape some sacks out there, whether that's with his legs. He's also got some size to him as well. So there's a really good chart out there. Just looking at his scramble rate versus his sack rate. That's the promising stuff. His arm talent in terms of throwing at different angles on the run, I think that's pretty good. I think he's a toolsy-ish prospect. This is not Josh Allen athleticism. I think that the arm talent in terms of accuracy, arm strength, I think is more average than anything.
Ultimately, I think I would be looking at a day two selection just based off of the film here, based off the stats that we'll get to here. So I think a pretty fun prospect in general. You definitely have some questions the more you dig into it though.

**Josh Norris** (2:26)
So in this video, we do want to talk about his individual talent, what he does well, some of his weaknesses, diving some underlying numbers on top of that. I think go through what's the realistic outcome for him in this supplemental draft, where might he be taken and compare that to maybe some prospects that were in the 2026 NFL draft and where they were selected. So you hit in a lot of what I wanted to lead off with here with Sorsby in that just seven turnover worthy plays this past year, charted by PFF and just seven sacks taken, that's all on 400 drop backs. And you would think just looking at those numbers that you'd then be watching a very tentative, safe passer.
Like that's not the case at all when you're watching Brendan Sorsby.
The dude just wants to throw from all different platforms with a bunch of different trajectories on his throws. And he does really want to throw down the field. In fact, I mean, you know, about 52% of his passes were anywhere from behind line, strippers of zero to nine yards. But he really wanted to attack 20 plus yards down the field. He had 23 completions on those for 955 yards, eight touchdowns, including 21 big time throws. So again, 21 big time throws, 20 plus yards down the field. So in that case, he's kind of like a get out of your seat. This is a really fun player when he does want to create explosives out there.

**Hayden Winks** (3:49)
Yeah, he's a really fun quarterback to watch on them because his mechanics on every single rep, it's almost like a snowflake. Every single one is different, whether it's the follow through, it's a backpedal throwing from like, he's pretty much like parallel with the sideline on some of them. Sometimes then he's parallel to the line of scrimmage. It's all over the place. I think that lack of consistency ultimately hurt him with his accuracy, where there were some of the most ridiculous touch passes. He releases the ball so much earlier than everyone else. He really enjoys just like uncle Rico throwing this ball way down the field, a lot of arc on it. Then when it goes right in the breadbasket, it's like, wow, that's some of the best throws you will ever see because the ball is in the air for so long. But also when you're playing like that, it's so hard to be accurate all the time. So there was as many balls that were well short, like multiple yards short or well into the sideline as well. I think if you just took a screenshot of his follow through and the angle that he was throwing the ball from every single rep on these 20 plus yarders, you'd say, what the hell is going on here? I think that loose mechanic stuff, while fun, ultimately hurt his ability to be consistent quarterback on some of these throws.
