Speakers: Will Dennis, Dennis
**Will Dennis** (0:00)
It's the first video I ever made that blew up.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:02)
How many views?

**Will Dennis** (0:03)
10 million. In that month, I think it was like a 10K month. Any chance we could ask you a question for a video we're filming? This has more views than the population of Canada, which is really crazy.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:12)
Can you say your biggest revenue month?

**Dennis** (0:14)
It's probably 50K.

**Will Dennis** (0:16)
Hey, how are you guys? What's up, Will? I'm Will Dennis. We're going to talk about great things today. So this is Richard's podcast, but he hired me to basically speak the whole time, and he just wanted to show up.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:28)
So you're about to interview people, right? What's your preparation like? What's your equipment? How do you know who to get? What's your first thing you're doing?

**Will Dennis** (0:40)
Yeah. Equipment. I mean, I have this microphone, which I fixed this thing, but basically it's a Rode wireless that I can clip onto this. I think it's called a Rode Interview Go.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:51)
Okay.

**Will Dennis** (0:51)
And then I used my own foam cover, which I ordered on AliExpress or something, because I didn't want to promote Rode, because Rode, on there, like Mike, it says the word Rode, right? So I changed it up and do my own branding. And then we have Dennis over here. Dennis has the, he's got the camera. Dennis is the equipment manager. He's got the camera. He's got the tripod. And this is kind of how we roll. We just like walk around with this kind of setup. And the preparation is like, I have my questions before. I usually scripted my questions out. This is pretty simple today, where I only have one question I'm asking, and then I'm freestyling it.

**SPEAKER_2** (1:24)
What's the question you're asking today?

**Will Dennis** (1:26)
What's one change you've made that has dramatically improved your life?

**SPEAKER_2** (1:30)
Okay. How did you end up with that question?

**Will Dennis** (1:32)
I go on Reddit a lot. And I look up like on Reddit, what are those questions that have so much engagement and that I like to consume? And I'm like, what would that look like if we did a video version of that? If I actually walked on the streets. That's how I got the ideas for the original questions. They're like, what does it feel like to be your age? What's the advice for your younger self? Stuff like that.
Because that's stuff I consumed for years. And yeah, I just keep going with that trend. There's so many things on Reddit you can ask, but not everything is interesting. So I wanted to pick questions that are interesting to people and see what they feel like. I might do it three times today, because I've never done this question. I might do it three times today and realize it doesn't get the answer I want. But we'll see. It's trial and error.

**SPEAKER_2** (2:14)
I guess we'll figure it out. All right, so let's see how it looks like. So people can learn how to do it themselves.

**Will Dennis** (2:20)
So basically, as I walk down, I just try to find people that I think would be interview-worthy. And in that, what does that mean? Yeah, what does that mean? It's a good question. So I have, I mean, I've done this like over a thousand times. So I kind of have a gauge of like, who do I think is going to be giving me some good information by the way they're dressed, the way they walk, the speed, if they're wearing sunglasses, if they have AirPods in, what they look like. If someone looks really ugly, it's, it's unlikely someone's going to want to listen to someone like that online, you know? So I want someone who looks presentable, someone who looks confident, like something like that, or someone who looks really unconfident actually also. But just to give me like a good, a good set of answers. Yeah, but I also have different age categories that I pick.

**SPEAKER_2** (3:09)
Okay.

**Will Dennis** (3:10)
Today, I'm going anybody older than 30

**SPEAKER_2** (3:12)
Okay.

**Will Dennis** (3:13)
Which is really broad. Usually it's like more segmented.

**SPEAKER_2** (3:16)
They'll have more wisdom.

**Will Dennis** (3:18)
Yeah, the people in their 20s, for these kinds of questions, they're still figuring their life out, so it's a little harder to get them involved. But people in their 30s, like people in their 30s and above, you start thinking about life a little bit more, and you have more room to reflect. When you're in your 20s, you're still chilling a little bit.
