Welcome back, guys, welcome to FreshFIT Podcast. We're here with Ryan Pineda, man. We're really excited to be here. Thank you for hosting us.

**Fresh** (1:05)
In Vegas, man.

**Ryan Pineda** (1:06)
Yeah, I appreciate you guys coming by, man.

**Myron** (1:09)
So, question, I've seen some of your content before.
Really big into real estate investing, got your money right. This is something that a lot of guys need to take seriously nowadays. But for the audience members that might not know who you are, can you introduce yourself to the people?

**Ryan Pineda** (1:21)
Yeah, the quick version is today, you know, I'm an entrepreneur. We've got six different, seven, eight-figure businesses. A lot of those are real estate-based. So, you know, we'll flip over 100 homes a year. We own over 550 rental units. We got education, events, got a tax company.
So, a lot of stuff on the entrepreneurial side. But, you know, before I was an entrepreneur, I was a professional baseball player. So, I got drafted by the Oakland A's in 2010 and, you know, played in the minor leagues for many years.
Never got to the big leagues. So, you know, I didn't make any money playing baseball. I was making $1, 200 bucks a month. Yeah, just living on that.

**Myron** (1:59)
Still a pro, though.

**Ryan Pineda** (2:00)
Still a pro.

**Myron** (2:00)
Still a pro. Getting paid for it.

**Ryan Pineda** (2:02)
Getting paid to play, right? Yeah. But, I had to get side hustles because, like, I was pursuing my dream playing baseball and, you know, I had to go survive.
So, that's how I kind of fell into entrepreneurship. I never wanted to be an entrepreneur. I just wanted to play baseball.

**Fresh** (2:16)
Ryan, take us back to when you were a kid. What do you think inspired you to want to get into business after all, eventually, you would say?

**Ryan Pineda** (2:22)
Well, like I said, I mean, I just, I was focused on sports, man.
And, you know, growing up, I was always good. You know, I got a D1 scholarship and then I got drafted and all that. So would you go play D1 at Cal State Northridge?

**Myron** (2:34)
OK.

**Ryan Pineda** (2:35)
So, you know, did all that. And so I was like, dude, I'm I'm on the path. Like everything's going to plan and I'll get rich when I get to the big leagues. But obviously it didn't work out.
And I just started to think about like, man, what am I going to do?
And I look back at my parents. I didn't know this when I was growing up. You know, you're asking about the beginning. But both of my parents were entrepreneurs. My mom was a realtor and my dad owned a little convenience store.
And so, you know, I watched them be able to work whenever they wanted. Right. As an entrepreneur, we set our own schedule. We can make as much as we want to make. Right. And so I was like, oh, well, if I want to go pursue baseball, I need something flexible. And, you know, entrepreneurship is the way.

**Myron** (3:15)
Now, did you grow up in California originally?

**Ryan Pineda** (3:17)
No, born and raised here in Vegas.

**Myron** (3:18)
In Vegas. OK, so you went to see you. So you grew up and was raised here. This is home. And then you went off to college to play baseball for the Bears.

**Ryan Pineda** (3:27)
Cal State Northridge. We're the Matadors.

**Myron** (3:29)
Matadors.

**Fresh** (3:29)
OK.

**Myron** (3:31)
And then you did that. You had your scholarship, went pro.
At what point did you realize, OK, I got to do something else. I got to transition.

**Ryan Pineda** (3:39)
Yeah, dude. I mean, when I got drafted, I wasn't a high round pick.

**Myron** (3:42)
Yeah.

**Ryan Pineda** (3:42)
So I knew I was going to have to like start working immediately.

**Myron** (3:45)
Yeah.

**Ryan Pineda** (3:45)
And so I got my real estate license that same year in 2010 So I was a 21 year old. I was like, I'll just be a realtor and try and make some money on the side.

**Myron** (3:54)
So playing baseball during the day, hustling houses at night or vice versa.

**Ryan Pineda** (3:57)
Pretty much.

**Fresh** (3:58)
But what is your real estate? When do you say, you know what, that's where I want to go. At least start with.
