They're gonna have to improve this outfield right now. They're gonna have to improve this team moving forward. Hopefully everybody else stays healthy. I don't think they can afford another injury. The outfield defense stinks. Now it feels as if you can't even trade some of the pieces you were looking to trade to acquire because you need outfielders.
This injury to Cody Bellinger is a devastating blow for the Yankees.

Thirteen games over. They're three out and you want to win this division still. You really do even though it dampens the mood towards the division right now. We have a six-game cushion for the first AOL card. The month of August, you're gonna play what, 28 games?

You have extended home stands in the month of August where, I understand the Yankees have been a better road team this year, but historically, it's Yankee Stadium where they get fat and they get ripe. So I think the month of August, massive for this team to stay afloat and to stay in the division picture with this pitching, which always gives you a source of optimism. Yep. 28 games in August, 18 at home.
Can the Yankees look up in the month of September and what? You have 73, 74 wins entering the month of September. You're three back at Tampa, four back at Tampa. You keep yourself in the conversation and then you start getting your armor back. Bellinger, Judge, Stanton.

I'm miserable right now with this news to Cody Bellinger. I'm envisioning how this lineup is going to look any better. What can they do immediately?
We were just talking about it. You bring up a really good point. I expected either Dominguez or Spencer Jones, certainly one of the two, to be in a possible trade. I don't know if you can do that now.
I don't know how aggressive, how many hits do they take before they decide they shouldn't be aggressive? I don't know. Still waiting on the judge news. He spoke yesterday and said, I got nothing for you. They're not even approaching it. He hasn't upgraded his rehab assignment at all. He's not doing anything different than he did from the day he got injured.

And the problem with judge right now is the calendar. It's just a math and I'm a math guy. You look at the calendar and you have to wait. You are completely at the mercy of the imaging and the results. Judge could feel great. He could feel great in a couple of weeks, say re-image it, doesn't look good. They're not going to jeopardize him.
