Hour 4: Craig and Big Mac Rip Mayor Adams Over Knicks Watch Party Mess

All right, so despite the fact that the mayor's office were the ones that were giving out tickets to tonight's alleged watch party by The Carton, and as Jim Dolan told us, he's not putting TVs out there, it's not his party, the mayor's office has now responded on Twitter saying that Mr. Dolan has now decided to cancel the watch party, but he's not the one that was giving tickets out. You're the one that was giving out tickets as I understood it, right?
So, in any event, he's just not putting TVs out there. So he goes like, this is from the mayor, I know this is breaking hearts across our city, but if there's one thing Knicks fans don't need permission for, it's showing up.

That's exactly what that is.

You're not letting us show up, because you have a blockade from 29th Street to 35th Street and 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue. So we want to show up. You and the police department brass are not letting us show up.

And the mayor's office and Jessica Tish's office, they're putting blockades up that don't allow you to go there. So how can the mayor now come out and go, we know you don't need permission to show up.

That means I'm going to get arrested. Because if I don't have a reservation, I can't show up.

For the permit. It was granted of 999 It sounds like when everything was shut down, James Dolan decided, well, we're doing this for a lot more than a thousand people. This is pointless. I'm not doing it.

Once they decided to keep the blockade up, that's when Dolan said, well, then we can't do it because our people can't get here. Don't forget, when the Knicks did their watch party outside, it wasn't ticketed. It was show up.
And people showed up. Now the mayor takes it over. He decides to make it ticketed. The mayor's office did. The mayor was gloating about it.

He said he saved it by making it a ticketed event.

**Craig Carton** (2:54)

I guess. But where were the tickets? You didn't get the tickets through the mayor's office website. It's on the nba.com.

Again, I don't know that part of it.

But don't forget, the mayor was gloating yesterday that I saved the watch party and we're gonna make it a ticketed event because of the whole, you need a reservation to be in the area, right? You just show proof of a ticket. So that's fine. It kind of became the mayor's party outside Madison Square Garden. So because of the blockade that's up, Dolan says, well, they're my TVs, but it's your party.
So you put TVs up and effectively, you now have nothing to watch. But if they took the blockades down, those TVs would be up in five minutes. That's how I view it.

No, I agree with that. I still, no, but I just don't know whose party it is. That's like, it still could, as far as I know.

It's supposed to be our party, the people's party. But obviously, as soon as the politics got involved, it went from being our party to somebody else's party. And now it's not a party worth going to because I can't watch the game.
