Of course, UB40.
It's the Summer Fridays, we get you ready for Yankee Baseball and hopefully Met Baseball. It does sound like the Red Sox are going to make it. The expectation right now is that they're going to land sometime just after four o'clock. So I'm assuming that means they're in the air because I don't know how the expectations would be. They'd land from Chicago to New York in less than an hour, just about an hour without already being in the air. But if you hadn't heard, the Red Sox, I guess, had several plane issues from yesterday. I believe yesterday's game was a day game, wasn't it? I think yesterday's Sox game was-
**SPEAKER_3** (0:44)
Sox game, I think, was definitely a day game because when I got home, it wasn't on.
**Chris McMonigle** (0:48)
Yeah. I mean, Boston played yesterday in Chicago and couldn't get to New York today until four o'clock.
So, if you're heading to City Field, as of right now, they're expecting the game to be played. They're expecting the Red Sox to make it. But I'll let you know if we hear anything else. But that is a game now you got to win. Got to win.
**SPEAKER_3** (1:11)
I don't want to say this, but who the hell is in charge of their travel?
**Chris McMonigle** (1:14)
I don't know. I mean, listen, they had plane issues. I don't know.
**SPEAKER_3** (1:17)
Yeah, but plane issues for how long? You find it in another plane.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:20)
I would think.
Maybe they thought they could fix the plane. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of the story, but yeah, they had multiple plane issues. You would think that they would want to fly. That's the whole point of the day game. So you fly out immediately. You get to New York, you sleep in New York, you wake up in New York, you don't wait for the next day and then fly out to New York, unless for some reason that's what they did. I had an off night in Chicago as opposed to New York. And then today the plane was an issue. That's a weird one. That is a weird one. I don't know if we've ever...
When was the last time there was a game suspended or moved because of plane issues?
**SPEAKER_3** (1:59)
I mean, we've had weather issues in the past with basketball and hockey and stuff like that in certain areas because of snow. Obviously, the hurricanes in Florida and stuff like that. But I don't think there's ever been a plane issue that has caused the delay.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:13)
Yeah.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:13)
Not in recent years.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:15)
No, not for baseball too, yeah.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:16)
I do think that they should just suspend the game today.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:19)
Why?
**SPEAKER_3** (2:20)
Or push it back for like an hour.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:22)
Why?
**SPEAKER_3** (2:23)
My philosophy on pushing it back an hour is the guys are probably tired. They're not going to take a long nap. So they're probably like the longer you put delay this, the worse it gets.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:33)
Yeah.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:33)
So I'm hoping to get 80 flasks off.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:35)
Oh, so you want to delay. You think that'll help. You think it'll help the Mets if the Red Sox get even delayed further.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:40)
Yeah.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:40)
I guess that's true. But why? But suspend it won't help. Suspend it. They get a night of sleep.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:44)
But it's just more embarrassing if they lose. That was my whole philosophy on that.
Listen, it's a lose-lose for them.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:53)
I get it. You would think. You would think everyone right now is running to their apps to go put money on the Mets with Nolan McLean on the mound.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:01)
You just said they can't lose. Well, now that means if they lose.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:05)
I'm having a little fun because I know you would be like, you really would worry about getting embarrassed by losing to the Red Sox tonight.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:10)
I mean, yes, I'm embarrassed by everything they do.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:12)
But it would be worse because they just landed at 4 o'clock.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:15)
It's just another same old Mets, LOL Mets.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:18)
LOL Mets, 888-808-1019, LOL Mets on the table, Yankees on the table. I think it would be very interesting. It's not the perfect player. He doesn't have a defensive position. I couldn't imagine putting him back a third at this point. But if Rafael Devers is available and the Giants would be willing, plus you got to remember you've got a Hall of Fame catcher as their executive. Maybe Brian Cashman can use some of those powerful brains he has behind that sexy bald head of his that he can maybe pull a little bit of a nice trade in the favor of the Yankees.
