Got a great show for you today as the New York Yankees take care of business yesterday and just as the sports gods planned it, The Lollipopper with the key hit late to give the Yankees the lead that they don't relinquish to get the extra home run from Wells after that. And the Yankees split the, double, pardon me. The Yankees split the first two games of the series against Detroit, but major possible breaking news with the New York Mets and a situation that's gonna have to be discussed, I think, throughout the day and maybe days to come. As you know, Francisco Honduras played his last rehab assignment game and will be rejoining the Mets here, right?

Today against the Cubs, I guess, for the second game, right?

**Chris McMonigle** (0:53)
The thought is he's gonna be back with the Mets for the second game of this doubleheader, yeah?

And as Francisco Honduras makes his return, Juan Soto will not be playing against the Chicago Cubs in either of the two games today. As you saw yesterday, had a little wincy action after both of his at-bats yesterday. There's a story line out there that Juan Soto does not want to play on the same team as Francisco Honduras. And now that Honduras is back, you will not see Juan Soto for the New York Mets.
Any truth to that, Big Mac? Your thoughts?

They haven't played together yet this year.

**Craig Carton** (1:31)
That's correct. They, it's been said, I have no proof of this, that they're not the best of friends.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:37)
That's for sure.

**Craig Carton** (1:37)
And it appears that they're somewhat cold to one another, right? But it's interesting that on the day that Lindor comes back, Soto will not be playing.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:50)
And he heard that Lindor, this is your, this is what you are hearing.

I'm not, I'm not the guy saying it.

You're hearing it, you're hearing it.

I just, I talk to a lot of people.

There was some anticipation that Lindor was going to be activated today.

Yeah.

And because of that, all of a sudden, a little wincey action on the swing.

Can't go tomorrow.

And then he, even on, on the bench, making sure he's wearing some sort of heating pad around his back.

Uh-huh. Gotta play it up.

Clearly he's hurt.

**Craig Carton** (2:13)
Gotta sell it.

I mean, he, he's clearly hurt.

**Craig Carton** (2:16)
And he's having a great season, by the way. He might be the MVP, the National League.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:20)
Well, unfortunately, he plays for the Mets, so I don't know if he would be the MVP.

**Craig Carton** (2:23)
Fair point.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:23)
Uh, and he's having a great year, there's no doubt. There is a little bit of lacking of that big, he still hasn't even had in the last two years, like, the big classic moment as a Mets.

**Craig Carton** (2:33)
Yeah, when you're 10 games under 500, hard to have that kind of moment.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:36)
And when you have the second half they had last year, and he struggled at the beginning, first month and a half or so, and when I say struggled, struggled for Juan Soto, not struggled for the mere mortal. But yeah, he's having an incredible season, and it's unfortunate again that it seems like he's getting hurt just and you can't get these two guys together. It's like the Yankees can't get maxed.

Maybe they don't want to get together.
That's what I want to be clear.
This isn't like a hot take thing. It's not like, oh, I need clicks, dude. I got more than enough clicks. We have 15.3 billion views of our interview with Jim Dahl. I got half a billion on my own with the podcast. Like, I don't need any extra views. I'm good. I'm just telling you that there are people that are chirping about this in the world of baseball. And they're not saying it's factual. They're asking the question. They're saying, hmm, that's interesting. They really have not played together at all this year.
