So they were trying to win 11 straight series, which would have tied the franchise record in 1912 The A's would have lost 13 straight series, which would have equaled the franchise record, which was done in 1916, but they won two in a row. So, funny thing about baseball, they are 8 and 33 since June 20th, and the Red Sox now go with Sunny Gray. But for whatever reason, the J's have had their number. They are 6 and 3 against them this year, and Boston has seven losses since June 25th. Four are to the Blue J's.
And the J's have the most wins against the Red Sox this year, and Boston hasn't been able to get the bats going in those games. Zero or one run scored in five of the losses. But Boston's won 15 of their last 16 on the road. And the last time they won 16 of 17 on the road was 1939 Another one.
Can Sunny Gray get the win? The last Red Sox pitcher to win 15 of his first 17 decisions, you had Pedro do it twice, Daisuke did it, Clemens in 86 and Dave Ferris in 1945 Gray is 14 and two. I can't believe it.

He's been great this year. He really has been 2.78 ERA, the 106 strikeouts, the 1.1 whip, you know, he's been fantastic. You look at his record on the road this year, he's pitching to a 3.14 ERA when you're looking at, when you're looking at Sunny Gray as well. So he's been good home, he's been a good way. I mean, the benefit for Boston tonight is, is that Jameson Tyone goes for the Toronto Blue Jays, who is basically saying, you know, the Chicago Cubs said Mercy, watching Jameson Tyone pitch all season long. And they, you know, they were trying to trade for one starter after another, but it's amazing. It shows you, I mean, the Toronto Blue Jays could never get over, they've dealt with injuries, they're trying to figure out what happened with the power of Vlad Guerrero Jr. this season over the loss to the Dodgers in the World Series, and they have never gotten going at all this season. I would imagine that Sonny Gray tonight gets that 15th win coming into this 114-2 on the season.

Yep, I'm with you. And I think they are 0-2 this year against the Jays when Gray starts. That is funky. And the Jays start 13 in a row against the division and they have a lousy record in the division. Richmond could be back tomorrow.
And if you want to play player props to Fade, Tyone, Yoshida and Abreu have been on fire, especially Abreu for Boston. The other one, how about the Mets? Where's this coming from? They won five of six and look at the offense. Six plus runs in the five wins. Elder $1.40 at home against Scott.
And Lindor has owned Elder. Elder hitting 460 career against him. Harris hitting 500 career against Scott. But how about the Mets all of a sudden?

Yeah, strange weekend in Pittsburgh, right? They lose a game on Saturday. I think the final score was nine, nothing. They had three hits. The next day, they score 11 runs. I mean, really, I mean, that's crazy when you're looking at a span of 24 hours.
But they played better. You know, Paul, they really have. Ewing's been really good. Ben is dealing with a little bit of a bone bruise in his wrist after making a catch Friday night for the for the New York Mets. But Christian Scott goes on the mound and he's one of those guys that would say if you're looking at a completely lost season for the Mets, the top two starters, young starters, McLean and Scott are who that organization is very, very excited about in 2027 if and when we do have baseball to go along with the two young outfielders. And Francisco Lindor has been remarkably streaky throughout the course of his career. And this season, obviously, cut or hindered due to that calf injury, which caused him to miss a significant portion of the year. He's playing some of his better baseball as of late. So I wouldn't be all that surprised if you get a well-pitched game tonight by Christian Scott down in Atlanta against the Braves. And they played a lot better baseball. I think it comes down to everybody knows who's gone is gone. We've passed the MLB trade deadline. No one's on pins and needles. And now you're looking at a team that has been dreadful, that goes to the ballpark with little to no expectations on any given night.
