All right, my microphone. Well, what happened? Somebody took it away. There it is. Yeah, Wednesday starts right now. Thank you all for joining us. Certainly do appreciate that. Let me put this down, put that down, and leave it for later. Moving in, moving right into Wednesday. The title, I always put Wednesday intro and notes, Thursday intro and notes, and I don't know why. I could just put M-T-W-T-F, and I would know what days they were. But on this particular day, I'll fess up, and it was a good thing. I would rather it happen at my desk than in here. I was gathering all my paperwork, and as Will knows, I usually end up in here with 20, 30 pieces of paper for a one-hour show. I just, I can't stand the thought of not having anything left to talk about.
And so when I was reaching for the paper, one particular piece of paper that I wanted, I accidentally bumped and tipped over, thank goodness it was only half a cup of water. These are those standard size little coffee cup, not small, but the average size coffee cup. What would you say this is? Well, about 10 ounces, somewhere in there, eight to 10 I think it's more than a cup. It's eight or 10 ounces. Anyway, about half of that. So four or five ounces of water just cascaded across my desk and came to rest under a big, tall stack of papers, most of which got ruined. And on the bright side of that, most of what was in that corner of my desk had been there, I'd say, for the better part of 90 days.
That is where part of that area on my desk is where things that wind up not being used during the shows end up in case I need them some other day shortly thereafter. And then shortly thereafter, while they're still relevant, kind of comes and goes because there's always always new stuff that I need to talk about.
And when it's all said and done, it's just, it's just paper. And I actually looked at two or three of the sheets that were most damaged by the water. Halfway thinking about calling some restoration companies. Bring a fan, bring a fan over here. We'll spread it out on the floor, get it all taken care of. My mouse pad was probably the worst victim. The little rubber, rubber matted on the bottom and spongy stuff on the top, whatever that surface is made of, that makes you think you need one of those for a mouse.
It took a bath. About one third of its surface area is still wet and will be probably when I get out of here. Although I did hang it off the side of my desk, you'd have been very proud of me, Willy, engineered away for the water, the dry parts on the desk, and I put a couple of weights on the back of it and then just the way it normally folds over, it's got air circulation on both sides. So I'm counting on it being dry when I get back. And any event, welcome to Wednesday afternoon as the cloud cover slowly thickens and what the threat of rain looms larger with each passing hour. We're gonna get some showers this afternoon. So they say, we'll kind of see how that works out. We're sitting still after looking at today's forecast, same as kind of yesterday. Seven day window of significant chances for rain and thunderstorms, which are likely today to move onshore from the Gulf of Mexico a little later this afternoon. And just lay a little more water on the ground. Not expecting major issues today. Maybe a quarter to a half inch of rain, it's said. But you never really know until you know, you know? And so you'll better understand just how vague a forecast can be, even less than a day out. Here's the exact verbiage from my best source, actually, as pertains to tomorrow's forecast. Daytime, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 84 East wind 5 to 10 miles an hour, chance of precipitation 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
