Interesting development over the last 24 hours. I love how all you know-it-alls on Twitter claim that you knew this is a fact. I didn't, not because I was taking gummies, which I was, but it was just an interesting fact-word of life that I thought I would share on Twitter yesterday.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:16)
Okay.

**Craig Carton** (0:16)
Did you know that Gargamel didn't, did not create all of the Smurfs? That Gargamel specifically created Smurfette to infiltrate the Smurftom?
Were you aware of this?

**SPEAKER_3** (0:34)
I was not.

**Craig Carton** (0:35)
And then Papa Smurf, with his genius and powers, he turned Smurfette into a regular card-carrying member of the Smurf Union.

**SPEAKER_3** (0:44)
Right.

**Craig Carton** (0:44)
But Smurfette was actually like a Trojan Horse. That Gargamel created Smurfette to attack the Smurfs and infiltrate the Smurftom.

**SPEAKER_3** (0:56)
I had...

**Craig Carton** (0:57)
And all these people are going, how did you not know that, Carton? How many edibles have you had? Three was the answer. But I never knew that.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:05)
So you tweeted out that fact that you didn't know.

**Craig Carton** (1:07)
I said I just learned this because I don't know what I was doing where I learned it, to be honest. Probably bad things. But I never knew that.
I never knew that.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:17)
I never knew Gargamel created the Smurfs at all.

**Craig Carton** (1:19)
He didn't.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:20)
Well, I know, but I...

**Craig Carton** (1:21)
The Smurfs existed as a people.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:23)
Okay, yeah, yeah.

**Craig Carton** (1:23)
And Gargamel, who's the bad guy, the villain, he wanted to get rid of the Smurfs because the Smurfs are always happy. Right. They're like dwarves. Hi-ho, hi-ho. It's off... They're like little dwarfy people, right? So he created Smurfette to try to end the Smurf kingdom.
Tell me you knew that.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:45)
I did not. I had no idea.

**Craig Carton** (1:47)
Pete, did you know that?

**SPEAKER_3** (1:47)
Was that one of his first efforts to try and... How many seasons into the Smurfs?

**Craig Carton** (1:53)
No, Smurfette's there from Jump Street. It wasn't like in year three, all of a sudden there's a hot blue chick coming around looking to bang pop a Smurf.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:01)
Yeah, I didn't know that.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:02)
Didn't that give it away though? She was the only female Smurf. So like, I mean...

**Craig Carton** (2:07)
No, no, I think they found her, you know?

**SPEAKER_4** (2:12)
I was doing a terrible comparison, so I stopped myself there, I stopped myself.

**Craig Carton** (2:17)
I came this close to making a very objectionable comparison. I don't know where they found Smurfette, but let's just say they found her.
Could have been in a river, you never know. But they found her and no one gave birth to her.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:32)
No.

**Craig Carton** (2:33)
Because who there could have given birth?

**SPEAKER_3** (2:39)
How did the Smurfs reproduce?

**Craig Carton** (2:40)
They don't. They don't. I think popular Smurf just creates them.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:43)
So then it wasn't that weird to just see someone show up.

**Craig Carton** (2:45)
That's correct. Good point.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:46)
They're used to it.

**Craig Carton** (2:47)
But all you people on Twitter claiming, how did you not know that? No, no, nobody knew that.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:52)
Nobody knew that.

**Craig Carton** (2:52)
I just found out for myself yesterday.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:55)
Was not the biggest Smurf guy.

**Craig Carton** (2:56)
No?

**SPEAKER_3** (2:57)
No.

**Craig Carton** (2:57)
Well, as a young boy you weren't. As an adult, you've probably seen the Smurfs take New York City.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:02)
I have not.

**Craig Carton** (3:03)
You have not? Great movie.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:04)
Which one is that? Is that with Neil Patrick Harris?

**Craig Carton** (3:05)
The one with the Smurfs take over New York City.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:07)
Is that Neil Patrick Harris?

**Craig Carton** (3:09)
I think so. I only saw the first one. I didn't see the second one. Okay. Yeah. The first one is interesting to me because it really is an attack on mankind.
Because how did the Smurfs come to New York City and run rough shot basically over New York City? Like we're human beings. And magical. How do we get these little people to show up through the blue portal and all of a sudden they're like running New York City? That part bothered me a little bit. Really? Yeah, a little bit. That's where you lost it. Like we can't capture the Smurfs, right? They're in our world. We're not in their world.
So that was just a storyline problem that I had with that.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:48)
Yes, I could understand that.
