June 4, 2026

The New York Knicks are now 12-0 since their loss to Atlanta, and Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle can't believe what they're witnessing. The guys discuss whether anyone can realistically pick against the Knicks after another comeback victory in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Speakers: Craig Carton, Chris McMonigle
**Craig Carton** (0:02)
Do you want to get swept?

**Chris McMonigle** (0:05)
335, Carton Show Big Mac.
There you go. Knicks win game one last night. Another typical Knick win coming from behind, winning by double digits. 12 consecutive wins. Haven't lost the game since 2004

**Craig Carton** (0:25)
In all seriousness, the NFL draft.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:28)
That's the last time the Knicks lost the game to Atlanta. Think about that.

**Craig Carton** (0:32)
Our draft party, the NFL draft. Think of all the things that have happened between now and then. It's been a month. It's unbelievable. No, it's more than a month now.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:43)
Haven't lost the game since the Atlanta Hawks, right? Crazy.

**Craig Carton** (0:47)
Game three of the Atlanta Hawks. The NFL draft, April 23rd, whatever day.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:51)
That's the weirdest part about it. That we're living in the moment with something that not just us, nobody has experienced. This is the greatest 12-game run from a standpoint of point differential, consecutive wins, et cetera, et cetera. In the history, in the history of the NBA, both regular season and postseason, meaning the Jordan Pippen Bulls did not do this. The Kobe Shack Lakers did not do this. The Steph KD Warriors did not do this.
This would set the Knicks up. No one's going to tell you that it's the most talented team of all time.

**Craig Carton** (1:31)
No.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:31)
But they could lay claim to being the most dominant single-season run in the history of basketball.

**Craig Carton** (1:38)
If they win three more games. Foe, foe, and foe. And they win 15 in a row.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:43)
Go ahead.

**Craig Carton** (1:43)
And only lose two games by a collective of two points.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:47)
Yes. You're talking about legendary stuff.

**Craig Carton** (1:50)
Legendary stuff. I don't care what anybody says. They should be in the same breath. And people are going to think this is hyperbole and hot take. They should be in the same breath as the 86 Celtics. They should be in the same breath as the 96 Bulls. It is an unbelievable dominant run through an NBA postseason. The likes of which have never been seen. It's crazy.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:10)
Right, right. And that's the other part that no one talks about. Not just that there's only two losses. It's two losses by a combined two points.

**Craig Carton** (2:18)
Two points.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:19)
Yeah, that's why it's stupid.

**Craig Carton** (2:21)
Before they found themselves, then it's to the worst team they played in this stretch of basketball.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:25)
Right, if I'm Atlanta sit home going, Hey! CJ McCombs or Rockstar, I'm giving him an extra contract, right?
That's the crazy thing about it.

**Craig Carton** (2:33)
Can you imagine them going through the entire playoffs winning a championship and the Hawks sitting at home going, Only team to beat them.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:38)
That's right. Beat them twice. That's right. Not just once, beat them twice.

**Craig Carton** (2:42)
Beat them 200% more than anything.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:43)
At some point, I can't...

**Craig Carton** (2:45)
No, I don't think they're going to sweep, though. I don't think they're going to sweep.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:48)
I think it's unlikely they sweep, but here's the problem with that. You know, because I said the reason I said yesterday the rules were that you can't pick them to sweep is that it's a homer pick, right? And the Spurs are a very good team. They really are.

**Craig Carton** (2:59)
They are.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:00)
All right? But the issue with it is, I found myself today, you know, obviously talking Knicks all day, being asked about the Knicks all day, I think this is a fair question for me to put out there to you. And to the audience as well.
How do you pick against them? Like take fandom out of it. Take gambling out of it. Like if I came out today and I said, or you said, you know, I think a lot of people feel like the Spurs are going to win Game 2 They're favored by more points. It's their season now is on the line. They can't go down 0-2 and then come to New York because, you know, then they're dead in the water. I think we agree on that.
And I respect that. And I think they're a very good basketball team. I'm not going to be surprised if they do win an A-game. But how do you pick the Knicks to lose a game?

**Craig Carton** (3:46)
Right? Yeah.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:47)
Like, like, handicap game 2 Okay, the Spurs didn't play their best game.
