I can't do this every day with you in August when I know the Yankees are A, gonna be a playoff team, and B, are gonna look, I think, if not drastically different, very different come August 3rd.

Yeah, I mean, they better.
To your point, the offense is terrible. I mean, that's the problem. I know Cruz gave up some runs in extra innings. He's not great in that role in extra innings like that. But yeah, this is about the offense. And yeah, I thought, again, it's not that they turned some corner, but I thought the other night against Pittsburgh was a good night for them because they jump out to the early lead and give it back. And then the offense has to go out and do it again. And they did. So I thought that was a productive night for them and maybe was going to get something going. But you look up and down this lineup, like, let's be honest. I mean, Ben Rice is the three-run home run. They have two separate times where they have runners in first and second, nobody out. They do nothing with it. They, you know, as much as I like the kid, it's getting to the point where Dominguez has just brutalit bats in every key situation ever. And to me, I know I say it a lot to you, and we don't have to do it every day all the way through August, but while Judge is gone, while Stanton is gone, and before they hit the trade deadline to acquire any kind of bat they can at catcher, at third base, at shortstop, wherever they're going to try to acquire a bat, Bellinger was the entire off season. The entire off season they waited for this guy. That was it. They paid him $30-plus million a year. He's supposed to be a guy in the middle of the sorter that does something. He's done nothing for them. He hasn't hit a homerun in over a month. He doesn't drive the baseball. He doesn't hit homeruns. He doesn't drive in runs. He doesn't come through in clutch situations. He has terrible at bats. And he is part of the problem right now. Because we knew, remember when you mocked me? You mocked me, Craig. I know it's going to go through the litany of times you mocked me. But you mocked me when I said, oh, what, you know, injuries were a big problem.
Obviously, and it's killed them. And then the bottom of the order. We knew the bottom of the order was going to be a problem. So I look at it today and I go, well, how can they fix it? How can they address it? This is what the trade deadline's about. Wells has probably been worse than they thought, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But the bottom of the order sucks, we kind of knew it. The top of the order, even without judge, is supposed to be a part of the order. Jazz has done nothing outside of some clutch home runs. And I know he hit two the other night. Bellinger's been awful. Rice went through his struggles when they were really lost seven straight games.
These guys that are supposed to be the guys who carry this offense knowing the bottom of the order isn't great, even they're struggling. This offense on a night-to-night basis is put to sleep by starting pitchers. Yeah, it's born baseball. I mean, listen, they don't hit. It's hard to watch.
