So, last night, I put a video out today, Big Mag, you've seen it as well, of the attempt by Victor Wembanyama to take out OG Anunoby's knee. It's as dirty and filthy and dangerous to play that I've ever seen in the history of basketball. Thank God he does not make contact with his foot as he literally comes in Bruce Lee style and tries to come down with all the force of his leg on OG's exposed knee, which could have ended OG's career. Here's why I bring it up now.
Today is the day where the NBA does all their reviews. So for example, the NBA put out their two minute report and I believe earlier today they acknowledged that OG Anunoby actually committed a foul against Fox. On that last play, Fox picked up the loose ball in the backcourt and probably should have dribbled out and won the game and said he goes up. OG made contact with his wrist and I agree with it, he did. It's a rare miss that the refs had that favored the Knicks. But much like they have to make a decision on are they retroactively going to give somebody a flagrant or take a flagrant away like they did for Mitch Robinson earlier on, they have not said anything yet about that one play. His attempt to take out OG Anunoby's knee is not a basketball play. He doesn't have the ball either when it happens, neither does OG Anunoby. It's right before the end of the first half. An argument could be made, now I want to be clear, they're not going to make it, and the NBA is not going to give him a flagrant one and suspend him for game five, but they should, because it's one thing that they've already missed the flagrant foul against Brunson, which is frankly an abomination, and why people don't take the NBA seriously, despite the fact that I'm loving it, we're loving it as Knicks fans, and I believe it's the highest rated of finals since Michael Jordan's last final run against the Jazz in 98
Yeah, Pete, do me a favor, check out the ratings for last night, because an argument could be made, everybody left at halftime, and then word of mouth brought everybody back for the fourth quarter. So I would not be shocked if the final two minutes of that game hits 30 million people. That's like a threshold number that we've not seen since 98
I will not be shocked if it got to that. The average would be much less, but I could see 30 million. They got to 28.6 million in game three.

So I think you're in lockstep with me. There's no way the NBA is going to now go back and say, Oh, you know what? We have to give Wemby a flagrant one for trying to take out OG's knee.

They should, but they're not going to. And if you've not seen that video go online, it's all over the place. I put it out as well. It's one of the most egregious attempts to hurt a player I've ever seen. It makes what Draymond Green does, kicking guys in the balls, seem tame. It makes what Jordan B did to Mitchell Robinson a couple years ago in the playoffs when he grabbed his ankle while laying on the ground and knocked Mitchell out for that series look like child's play.
That's how violent this attempt of taking out OG's knee was. But you and I both know the NBA is going to do nothing about it.
