Listen, I would only hope that I had the Yankee fans' problems. I really would have been struggling. I had a struggling method. You and I have had these talks before, and of course, quickly, you asked about Lindor.
I would definitely move him.
I was never a huge fan, although 2024 was definitely a memorable year. Um, and his input. But, um, if you remember, and you probably don't, but I do, back in the winter, I had called you, and I said that we were lied to by David Stearns, and of course, by Mr. Cohen. And you, you didn't really believe that. And I want to, I want to ask you that question again, if you think we were lied to.

I don't know if you were lied to. What were you lied to about? What's the specific lie you were told?

We were told that the reason why we got rid of Alonzo was run prevention and all these other things. When really it wasn't really the root of the problem.
You know, he said it was about run prevention, but we didn't know if that was BS. I mean, obviously, it's not about run prevention.

You know, because, well, what it was about, obviously, was that there was probably a cancer in the clubhouse and they felt like, hey, you know, we got to move out these guys because there's a conflict. And the one guy that we kept.

That's the guy we're talking about getting rid of right now. The one guy that we kept. Probably if we got rid of him, it would have solved everything. It would have solved Soto.
It would have solved the Alonzo, Nimo problems.

It's tough to me to say that you will... I don't think the reason, like the express reason, that they traded Nimo and Alonzo was because they were a problem in the room. And they wanted to turn this team in fact, like it makes it, it makes less of the knowing that the owner knew of the problem last year and that the problem still exists. The idea that Soto and Lindor aren't friendly at all, makes it less likely that those are the guys jettisoned to help the room. You know what I'm saying? Like the problem was those two and those are the two they kept.
I don't think that they traded away Alonso and Nimmo and McNeil. Maybe McNeil, but McNeil wasn't a successful player anymore. I haven't kept an eye on what he's done with the A's as they've started to fade here, but I know he was having a good start to his season. Haven't heard much on McNeil since. But like yeah, okay, him and Lindor didn't get along. I think the Jeff McNeil ride with the Mets had just come to its end.
Alonso, they, David Stearns doesn't believe in giving long-term contracts to players with that body type, that level of defense and the offensive prowess of just power. Like right or wrong, I'm not defending it. I'm not defending it. He should still be a Met. I just think it had more to do with not wanting to give Pete Alonso five years and be locked into that money.
