Baseball season, it has been brutal betting for your boy the last couple of weeks. Maybe we can rectify things as we turn the page with the return of the show here. Get things going in the right direction. In case you missed any of the action on Sunday, just to get you updated, the Dodgers have lost eight of nine. They're averaging 3.125 runs per game, their last eight games. Losing one on Sunday, four to two to the Diamondbacks, and seemingly, their offense has disappeared. You know, I was told about a week ago, right before the trade deadline over the weekend, when they traded for Tarek Schubel, they ruined baseball.
Seems to me, they're certainly susceptible. Seems to me, the Dodgers are not the immortals everyone made them out to be. I understand October and the regular season are two very different things, but they're showing they can get beat. It's like Drago, when Rocky saw blood for the first time, realized he was fighting a human being. If he can bleed, he can knock him down. That's eventually what happened, and honestly, it saved democracy. Shout out to Rocky for getting that done for all of us here. But the Dodgers losing eight of nine. Worth noting here, they are minus $3 on Monday, taking on the Kansas City Royals. Scubal's second start.
God, I don't know what you do with that money line, but I can't lay a run and a half with the way the offense is playing in late 135 juice. I'd like to tell you, the way I want to attack this one is going under the seven and a half, but at any point in time, the offense could wake up. Noah Cameron's on the road, young lefty, second year in the Bigs. I'd prefer him at home. Instead, I think maybe you go team total Kansas City. You go under on that. You anticipate a gem at a school ball and look at the Kansas City Royals offense to struggle on the road in a big spot. That is something I consider there. Some other scores from Sunday's action worth noting here. Philadelphia gets off the Schneid against Toronto. They win seven to six and 12 How about Jesus Lazardo? Seven innings, two earn, 12 punch outs. Schwabber with two home runs. He now ties Jordan Alvarez for the Major League lead with 35
Cam Schlittler is back to being your odds on favorite for the American League Cy Young Award. As the Braves beat the Yankees two to one. Schlittler though was fantastic. Seven innings, three hits, one earned, 11 strikeouts. Right now in the betting market, he is ahead of one Dylan Cease. He's minus 125 Cease is even money. You're splitting hairs between those.
I think Schlittler is going to get it done in the end, but I have had concerns all season long about him in the innings and more importantly, the pressure on the Yankees to get over the hump to finally win a World Series since the last time they did so because Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone, they've not connected on one. And if they're going to get to the promised land, Schlittler needs to be 100%.
And if you go back and look, even minor leagues, he's a young kid. He's never thrown 200 innings in his life. Very concerned about how they may have to manage him when it matters down the stretch of the season. The A's took two or three from the Red Sox. So put this into perspective. Boston was on a 27-3 run. They lost two in a row to the A's at home at Fenway Park.
Since June 29th and July 1st, they hadn't lost two games in a row. The A's hadn't won back-to-back games since June 12th to 14th. Now they've done so.
And now Boston on Monday, a chance to bounce back against Jamison Tyon and the Toronto Blue Jays. Sonny Gray takes the hill at Rogers Center. He has a 3-1-4 road ERA this year.
He struggled his last time he saw the Blue Jays on July 25th. Five innings, ten hits, five earned and three K's. Back on June 18th against Toronto, better results for him there. Seven innings, three earned, four strikeouts. Tyon, his second start with Toronto, four innings, six hits, three earned, two walks, four strikeouts against Houston last week after going over north of the border.
