All speculation, it's speculation. We don't know the actual results, but that Mackenzie Dern took the first round over Jillian Robertson. She was the favorite and the straw weight title holder coming into this one. She's a massive monster favorite right now as she's been dominating Robertson on the ground. Robertson talking a lot of smack coming into this one, which is nothing totally out of the ordinary. So we're keeping an eye on that. We're scoreless in Anaheim, bottom six. However, the Angels have two on and one out against the Royals, Dobnak in a jam. He's 90 pitches in, hasn't a lot of run, but we'll see if he can get out of this pinch there. The Rangers are still scoreless as they are thankfully fading in the American League West race. They lost three or four in Anaheim, and now after losing the opener last night in West Sacramento against the Athletics, it's three nothing A's, bottom five. So the Rangers have yet to score through five innings for them in that hitter's ballpark. Pretty wild stuff. Let's continue our college football discussion with Michael Calabrese of Action Network and also the BMOC Podcast as he rejoins us here via the progressive guest line here. And I just want to talk about a couple teams. You were talking about LSU. Anything we missed in the SEC? Some of the teams on their schedule maybe by name look harder than this is, or is this schedule going to be as big of a gauntlet before we turn the page and go to some other conferences here?

One team I would point to that I think has the opportunity to present the highest variance would be Ole Miss. If they return to the playoff and rode Trinidad as they did during the college world playoff, I don't think any of us would be surprised. But if he were to get dinged up or to take a step back, you can't overstate the emotional impact of what happened with Lane Kiffin and the way that it fueled that team to play their best football in the postseason last year.
The fact of the matter is, not only do they lose some coaches, they lost some talent, they've certainly taken a downgrade in both departments, but also this element of who's calling plays and losing Charlie Weiss Jr., who is someone who is pulling all the right strings and putting Trinidad in a spot to essentially put some of the best football on tape of the entire season. I think there's a chance that Ole Miss could be one of those top 10 teams that happens every single year, that falls out of the top 25 altogether. It could be a team that loses three or four games. If that is the case, and LSU rolls into Oxford in terms of one of the most emotionally packed matchups of recent memory, and beats the doors off of Ole Miss on their home field, all of a sudden, that's going to put LSU in the catbird seat, and the schedule looking forward looks a lot more manageable for the Bayou Bengals.

All right, and you're right about the emotional lift that departure did, because the team played hard in the playoffs, but I thought that head coach, who was the DC before, he was a complete meathead with it going for two in the first quarter against Georgia in the NFL, maybe with the extra point distance being back, but in college, you don't chase points in the first quarter. And yes, Kirby Smart outdumbed him and made worse mistakes with some of the clock management, but that doesn't mean he's off the hook. I get worried when these situations happen. I've said it with guys like Dan Campbell, the margin of error is just so small. So maybe things come off the rails a little bit, or maybe they just put so much into that game and everything else after that is a giant flat spot. Let's go elsewhere.
