All right, 4 o'clock. McMonigle here with you on The Carton Show, got you for another two hours, 888-808-1019. We'll still get to the trading of Skubal and whether or not the Yankees should consider it. I want to get to the Giants a little bit as well on practice habits as we've heard a little bit about how Harbaugh is going to start the camp and how it's different than previous administrations.
But anything you want to talk about, we opened it up to the Mets, the Yankees obviously tonight. Big game for the Yankees as they take on the Rays for the third time. One more game tomorrow after tonight. And to me, the Yankees need a split. I know people are, oh, what do you mean they need a split? That's not enough. Split is enough. Right now, it's the bare minimum. That's what they need. Sure, like to take three out of four. Can't go into the series and come out any worse than they went in. Right now, the Yankees are struggling clearly. They're in funks. Goldschmidt's for 30
Bellinger's terrible. We don't even know who they're throwing for the fourth game of the series. The Rays came in, eight winners of eight of their last ten going into it. They're playing well, they have the best record in baseball at home, and the Yankees are in the midst of a horrible slump. And don't know who they're pitching in the fourth game of the series. You take two and you're happy to get them.
I know the state of the Yankees shouldn't have fallen to such a far low point where the Rays taking the splitting of four game series with the Rays is acceptable. In this current situation, considering the injuries, the slump, the way the other team was playing and who they were pitching in the series.
Yeah, I'll take a split. Figure out a way to win one of the next two. 888-808-1019. Chris and C-Cliff, what's up Chris?

**SPEAKER_2** (1:50)
Hey C-Mac, how are you?

**Chris McMonigle** (1:52)
Good, how are you buddy?

**SPEAKER_2** (1:52)
Hey Cole, doing well.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:54)
So just real quick, as an aside, is Peter Schwartz and Gallo the same person? Because they sure sound the same.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:01)
I think they are the same person, yes. I've never seen them in the same room at the same time, so I can't be confident.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:09)
It's dual universes.
So you know, it's funny, you were mentioning about, you know, when is it going to lose? And I'm just going to go to an old adage. You know, pizza is like sex, you know, when it's good, it's great, and when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:26)
Yep.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:26)
So if you're out on the ball field and you're in Yankee Stadium or City Field and you're playing professionally, it's still great to be out there. I just wanted to keep it light, because I know you're very involved.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:38)
No, I get you. I meant more about like for the fan base, because I hear this a lot, that, oh, you know, not scoring runs is a terrible way to, oh, it's just so boring, I can't even watch it, it's so much worse. Like, if you're a fan, now again, unfortunately for the Mets, I don't know the level of adjuda Mets fans are bringing to the games now, because I think most Mets fans feel the season is over. So and as many Yankee fans feel this season is over, clearly it's not, they're in a playoff position, they would be hosting a playoff game if the season ended today. It'd be in the wild card series, they'd be hosting that wild card game. So the season is clearly not over for the Yankees, despite how much faith we have lost in them. The Mets are a different story right now, most Mets fans are watching these games and want to see the kids play well and don't have that life or death with the win just at the moment. So to compare the two games last night are a little bit different, but I hear like, would you rather have a game where you strike out 17 times, you don't score any runs and you win a 3-1, 3-0, 2-0 ball game and you just look lifeless offensively, or would you rather have a game where you keep scoring runs, keep coming back and your bullpen keeps imploding? Because to me that's, I mean, I don't have fun either way. You could tell me one, like, oh, well, I like the idea the offense is getting hot. It was a lousy pitcher. I don't expect that to always be the case. We had to throw our worst relievers because our closer wasn't available after pitching two nights in a row, whatever excuse you may make. There are trends that would help you in one and not in the other. But for me, like, if you're a MET fan last night, did you enjoy watching them take the lead, watching Soto perform or watching, what, Ewing have four hits last night, seeing guys start to show some power as well, watching the Royals kick the ball around and taking a lead and feeling good, only to see, you know, Barazaban and Selinger give up all these runs, and watching the team continue to collapse after jumping out to leads? Like, to me, I'm not more entertained because they scored more runs than I saw in inside the Park Little League home run in three hours on one play, which I've never seen, and I have to say, the throw from the first baseman, I've drawn a blank on his name, was it, it was Gagliano, right? It wasn't, yeah, it wasn't Pascuettina.
